A Strong Hold of Women in the Maritime Industry

Navigating the seas and ships, managing port operations and maritime trade these are no longer roles exclusive to men. Today, the shipping industry is entering a new era that highlights the strength and operational excellence of women.
Ms. Fathima Nasly. N is a shining example of this change. At just 21 years old, she successfully handled ship chandling operations for two vessels AS ALVA and M.V. KLEVEN on 29/04/25 at the Vizhinjam International Seaport, sending a powerful message about the growing role of women in the shipping sector.
A graduate in Business Administration (Logistics, Retail & E-Commerce) from the Indian Maritime University, Fathima has been working since November 2024 with us. Even in this short span of time, her dedication, precision, and high standards of performance have been highly commendable.
This is only the beginning as more women enter the shipping industry, the maritime sector will become more inclusive and empowered.
The steady hands of women will now guide both ships and the seas.
